Research Scientist position in Logan, UT. Participate with other scientists in a program to map, clone and characterize genes responsible for sexual and asexual seed formation in plants and related plant reproduction abnormalities; research how characteristics of plants are carried through successive generations using microarray expression analysis and various mapping, cloning and transformation approaches; publish results of research in peer reviewed journals and present results at scientific conferences. Candidates must have: Ph.D. in plant molecular biology or related field (foreign educational equivalent is acceptable); demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals; demonstrated knowledge of molecular biology and genetics; demonstrated ability in embryology or related plant development biology area; demonstrated ability in gene mapping and cloning (preferably in Arabidopsis), expression analysis, immunomicroscopy, genomics, proteomics, and plant transformation are preferred.
